Standardized Kota pattern

We intend to enhance the quality of coaching by incorporating all the best practices of Kota’s regular classroom coaching. This combination of best practices of teaching, personalized guidance and technology support makes Spectrum, stand much ahead of Kota’s institutes.

Current scenario…what actually happens…

Every competitive exam preparation has a similar story. By conducting farcical Admission Tests, coaching institutes just fill up seats, and push everyone into exam (IIT-JEE) preparation. The whole selection and guidance process of these institutes is flawed and non-transparent. It is designed in a way that it benefits the institute. Preparing for IIT-JEE just because an IIT coaching institute is offering the program and wants to fill up its seats is the worst reason to start preparing. But it is not just coaching institutes' fault, its parents' and students' fault too. Parents take this critical decision for a child's career in such haste and without doing background study about the institutes. They try to save money and become victims of "Aptitude cum Scholarship Scams". The problem is that parents are not aware of the reality and make a decision just by following others as happens because of herd mentality. It's equivalent to the mistake of buying the assets as per the market sentiments without performing a due diligence on the worth of the assets and regretting later.

We have seen that it is a standard practice that coaching institutes give career guidance to students. Going through career guidance program where the counselor herself doesn't know how to guide and doesn't have the correct approach, is counterproductive for the students.

Students and parents don't understand all this, remain confused for the whole year, and run around here and there from pillar to post.

Presently, all the coaching institutes are practicing the same scenario. Thus, Spectrum which is launching the standardized Kota pattern is a digital leap over the current state of coaching at present institutes.

How do we differ??

Most coaching institutes are actually teaching institutes. Good teachers are rare and are usually very busy. A coach is one who helps a student set his/her goals and who takes care of every requirement of them to reach that goal. A coach provides academic, mental, strategic and emotional support to the student. Good coaches are not only concerned with their student’s academic achievement; but also are equally concerned with the overall development of a student. They see their success in their students’ success. But unfortunately, most institutes just run after so called toppers and dishonor their promises of helping each and every student that shows faith in them.

Flaws exist in the current teaching institutes.
Lack of proper guidance
Lack of proper student diagnosis
Lack of remedial course
Lack of effective mentors
Lack of quality & standardized teaching

We are redefining the institute for competitive examinations by polishing off all these flaws existing in the present teaching institutes. Our working strategies are as follows
We try to Increase self-awareness and an independent approach of students as well as their parents by our information sessions, seminars and personal meetings, in this direction of making people aware about how they should make a decision. When you'll engage yourself in this process, you will realize how important it is and you will feel the difference in your thought process. You may end up making the same decision, but your chances of making a wrong choice will decrease.
We should engage you in the selection process and should know about your educational, financial, and family background. We take both objective and subjective feedbacks from you about the child. We take the child's personality and IQ, and based on all these assessments, we will discuss the right career choices with you.

After that if we find that the child is fit for engineering, we will take a knowledge and problem solving test to assess a child's level of preparedness to start engineering entrance exam coaching. If the performance is not at par, we'll first give a remedial course or bridge course to him so that he can kick start IIT-JEE preparation in the regular batches.

We will stay with your child for the whole academic session that is most critical for his/her career. We’ll provide academic, mental, strategic and emotional support to him/her. We'll help in goal setting and tweaking the career plans to best suit a child.
There is a vast difference in the competencies of students who join a coaching institute. A majority of students who are selected by institute lack knowledge of basics concepts, those are essential to jump-start IIT-JEE preparation. The way students prepare for their board exams is completely different from the way IIT-JEE curriculum is taught. Students do not realize that and keep on taking it lightly in the beginning.

This situation can easily be avoided by assessing the preparation level of every student and teach him the required basic concepts before starting the JEE curriculum. This will ensure that all the students are at the same level in a class to begin with and no student will lose hope. We will take care of each and every student like other institutes take care of just one or two toppers.
We will run a “student mentorship program” in which we will assign every student a mentor who will take care of the student for the whole academic session. These mentors will keep the morale of the students high and will be available to solve their every problem. We will walk that extra mile with you so that every student attains his best in the end. For us, every student is same, and our success will depend on not just our topper's success, but every student's success.
• Effective teachers are the key to student’s success. Good faculty members are very rare and thus, existing institutes are unable to maintain academic standards that are required for success in IIT-JEE. There is no standardized content. Different teachers teach different things in batches. There is no quality check on the teaching level.

There is one authority teacher (also called head of department) in each department (PCM) who does all the academic planning and directs every teacher in the institute for that subject. Moreover, we have teacher feedback system in place that lets us know about the performance of every teacher in the class and the incentives for a teacher are attached to their feedback from students. Our top faculty members take the responsibility to train every faculty member under them so that the content is standardized across all batches. Moreover this system ensures that entire syllabus is completed in time and high academic standards are maintained.
